Immigration Services

In keeping with the demands of the large immigrant population within the Central Valley, and the constant changes in immigration raw, Catholic Charities has instituted service that provides guidance and assistance to low,income immigrant families and immigrants victims of domestic violence.

Immigration services are provided for a minimal fee to the client, in addition to the application processing fee. Services include inquiries and petitions for naturalization, claim of citizenship for lawful children less than 18 of naturalized parents, affidavits of support, work authorization, and applications for renewal of lost or expired visa cards.

Catholic Charities immigration services are approved by the Bureau of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Services necessary for completing petitions or inquires, such as pictures, fingerprints, notarization, and or translations are also provided. Clients with immigration concerns beyond the department's grasp of knowledge are referred to immigration attorneys and or other local experts. Consultations occur both on a walk in, or call in bases, for a small fee. During the year 2000, completed were 2040 immigration petitions, 600 assisted were farm workers with family based immigration applications.
